Rapid growth, real history
Thompson's Station is one of the smaller incorporated towns in Williamson County, but among the fastest-changing — its population grew from 2,194 at the 2010 Census to 7,485 at the 2020 Census. The town takes its name from Dr. Elijah Thompson, who donated land for a train station in the mid-1800s, and was the site of the Civil War's Battle of Thompson's Station in March 1863. Several homes in the area are listed on the National Register of Historic Places, including the Jacob Critz House and the Thomas L. Critz House.
